The Cross County Community School District Board of Education, Stromsburg, Nebraska, is seeking a highly qualified Superintendent to lead the district and support its mission of ensuring success for all students.

McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development are engaged as consultants in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the School Board in identifying and screening the candidates.

Enrollment: 375 students

Location: Stromsburg, Nebraska – 65 miles NW of Lincoln

Paxton Consolidated Schools has a vacancy for the position of Superintendent of Schools with
a start date of July 1, 2026. The school is located 20 miles east of Ogallala, 30 miles west of
North Platte, and approximately 3 hours east of Denver. Paxton has a population of 600 and the
school also encompasses the community of Sarben. There are numerous recreational activities
to enjoy in the Paxton area, including Lake McConaughy only 20 minutes away.
Paxton Consolidated Schools has a student enrollment of 176 PK – 12. The curriculum is
challenging, the instruction individualized, and student success abounds. All students
experience success through a continuous improvement process that builds student,
parent/guardian/family and community engagement in order to enhance educational
experiences and opportunities for all students.
The district is looking for an approachable leader with solid communication skills. This individual
will demonstrate a commitment to being involved in school and community activities. The
superintendent will possess financial management skills and ensure maintenance of the school
building and grounds. The leadership will prioritize continued improvement of all student test
scores to set the bar high for student achievement and focus on quality staff recruitment and
retention.
