The Department of Educational Administration (EDAD) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for an assistant/associate professor (non-tenure/clinical faculty) in P-12 school leadership. EDAD is committed to preparing individuals to serve and lead P-20 educational organizations in the challenges and opportunities of contemporary teaching and learning. The position will be aligned primarily with the P-12 School Leadership Program.

The selected candidate will teach and advise in master’s and doctoral programs, including supervision of practicum experiences and EdD dissertations, and engage in outreach to school districts. EDAD faculty utilize face-to-face, hybrid, and distance education formats in teaching and advising students locally, regionally, and nationally. Within our programs, P-12 school leadership emphasizes the importance of policy and leadership in developing, improving, and sustaining leaders who effectively meet the challenges of contemporary school leadership. The selected candidate will be expected to enhance efforts around the program’s connectivity and partnerships with P-12 schools and educational organizations across Nebraska and beyond. We are especially interested in individuals with a strong practitioner background, skill at integrating research and promising practices into school leadership, and the ability to strengthen our commitment to opportunity, equity, access, and success across the educational spectrum.

Minimum Requirements:

        Doctorate in educational leadership/administration/equivalent (EdD or PhD) at the time of appointment that supports/aligns with interests of the department’s longstanding commitment to equity, access, and success;

        Ability to contribute to the EDAD P-12 core competencies of the P-12 program: Visionary Thinker, Reflective Learner and Servant Leader;

        Effective collaboration with school districts, state/regional departments of education, and other scholars/practitioners;

        Successful teaching and administrative experience in P-12 schools and successful mentoring of school leaders;

        Ability to teach and advise master’s and doctoral level students to degree completion, including supervision of doctoral (EdD) dissertations.

        Evidence of success working with individuals from different and diverse backgrounds;
successful teaching/advising experience using distance education technology; and successful leadership of professional development for teachers and school leaders.
