Join School Superintendents' Delegation to Israel

The America Israel Friendship League sponsors an annual delegation of school superintendents to Israel, a trip which includes school visits and meetings with Israeli education officials. In exchange, participating superintendents agree to host a delegation of students from Israel in their district sometime in the following three years.

Superintendent Jack Moles of Johnson County participated in the trip, and has since hosted students at Johnson County Central High School. He shares the following about the trip:

I received the invitation from the American-Israel Freindship League (AIFL) to apply for the Superintendents trip to Israel as a result of being on the AASA Governing Board.  The trip itself was the best travel experience of my life.  The historical and spiritual aspects of the trip were especially important to me, but I also had the opportunity to have some educational and cultural experiences that were just as fulfilling.  I met some great friends in other Superintendents from across the US.  By far the greatest outcome of my trip was for my school to be selected to take part in the AIFL youth exchange.  We hosted 10 students from Israel for a week, then had 4 of our own students go to Israel for two weeks.  The friendships formed by our students with students in Israel, and the experiences my students had were invaluable.  I look forward to continued involvement with the AIFL and encourage other Superintendents to get involved.  The trip is an excellent way to start this involvement. I cannot speak highly enough about the experiences that my students and I have enjoyed.

For more information on the trip, which takes place from April 26th-May 4th, see below or visit AIFL's website.

The AIFL will be responsible for expenses of the trip inclusive of international airfare (economy
class), meals, hotel accommodations, travel expenses in Israel, tour guide and international
group medical insurance. Each member of the delegation is responsible for a participation fee
of $1000. Should you wish to bring a guest on this trip there will be an additional cost of $4,000
which will cover all airfare from New York to Tel Aviv round-trip and land costs in Israel.
We hope you will be able to join this study tour and we looking forward to discussing with you the
participation of your school district in the Youth Ambassador Student Exchange (YASE) program.
If you would like to participate or need further information, please contact Dr. Charlotte Frank at
