Inbody Memorial Kick-off at the NASBO Conference

In honor of Russ Inbody, the Nebraska Association of School Business Officials (NASBO) is holding a fundrasier for the YMCA youth soccer organization, where Inbody was a deeply committed volunteer coach.

Attendees to the NASBO State Convention, which will be held April 24-25th at the Younes Conference Center in Kearney, will be able to pledge their support of the memorial fund at registration, and show it on a soccer ball decal to be posted at the conference center.

Kelli Ackerman, President of NASBO, thinks there is no better way for members to honor the memory of Russ Inbody.

"Russ left an indelible mark and we will miss his professional expertise and friendship.   Russ was such a highly valuable member of NDE and respected by all school business officials across the state. The effects of his loss are already being felt statewide.  During his many years of helping schools, his dedication and selfless nature were always something that many others could only hope to attain. All who knew Russ regarded him with great respect and admiration.  We are doing this fundraiser in honor of Russ since he had a passion for youth soccer and dedicated many years to coaching at the high school level.  All funds will go to the YMCA soccer program in Lincoln where Russ volunteered."

Todd Johnson, who is the Executive Director of Youth Sports for the YMCA of Lincoln, praised Inbody's work, too. He shared the following about the program NCSA donors would be helping support:

Our Annual Campaign-Strong Kids donors make it possible for children, families and adults to have access to Y programs that are so vital to our community. While we strive to keep values-based programs and fees affordable by subsidizing some of the real costs, we know that during difficult times some individuals and families will need financial assistance. In 2013, the Youth Sports Branch gave assistance to 1920 children, which gave 540 children an opportunity to participate in soccer clinics, camp and leagues that are offered.  Through the Annual Campaign, we are able to ensure that no one is turned away from Y programs and services based on their ability to pay. Community support helps thousands of youth and families share the YMCA experience!

(If you are unable to attend the conference and would still like to make a donation, please send directly to NCSA, with a note indicating it is for the Inbody Memorial.)
