Deshler Public Schools seeks applications for the position of Interim Superintendent of Schools. The District is located in Deshler in Southern Nebraska, with a PK-12 enrollment of 263 students. The District has strong, progressive community relations; is financially sound; has strong student programs, dual-credit. and career readiness; low staff turnover; and strong parental support.

The Superintendent of Schools provides leadership and supervision to the faculty, staff, and students of a Nebraska school district in accordance with the policies and directives of the district’s Board of Education.  Candidates must possess or be able to acquire by the opening date of the position, a Nebraska Administrative and Supervisory Certificate endorsed fully or provisionally for the PK-12 Superintendency.   An Educational Specialist degree, Doctorate in Educational Administration, or an equivalent credential approved by the Nebraska Department of Education is required for this position.

High School Assistant Principal

This position will involve working with staff, students, and parents at the building level. 
The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of a team, executing effective
oral/written communication. Established leadership experience in implementing
curriculum, operating within a career academy structure, working constructively in a
team driven environment, and utilizing data to drive continuous improvement
initiatives, is also preferred.  Demonstrated experience in handling multiple projects and
meeting deadlines is essential.

The successful candidate will have experience in building a collaborative culture,
establishing/maintaining high expectations for students and staff by serving as an
instructional leader, the ability to establish and foster strong relationships, and the
capacity to build professional learning communities.

This position offers a 260 day contract period.  Anticipated start date is July 1, 2024.
Selected candidate must hold or be eligible to obtain a Nebraska Administrative
Certification with Secondary endorsement.   This administrative position requires District
residency.
