Summerland Public Schools - Superintendent

The Summerland Public Schools, Ewing, Nebraska, Board of Education, is seeking a highly qualified and fully certified Superintendent. The Board wishes to have the successful candidate assume the responsibilities of the position July 1, 2021.

McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C., Executive Recruitment and Development has been engaged as the consultant in a search for outstanding candidates. They will assist the Board of Education in identifying and screening the candidates.

Enrollment: 402

Location: 30 miles southeast of O’Neill, 50 miles northwest of Norfolk, and 100 miles west of Sioux City, IA.

The Qualifications
The candidate must have the background, skills, and abilities essential for excellence in educational leadership. The board recognizes that selecting a superintendent is one of the most important decisions it will make. The Board developed the following desired characteristics.

• Active and engaged community leader that is approachable, energetic, and possess great communication skills.

• Able to develop and maintain an efficient budget that meets students’ needs in a fiscally responsible manner.

• A progressive instructional leader with an emphasis in technology.

• An individual with impeccable integrity who is able to lead and empower others while embracing a new culture.
