JOB TITLE: DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND SCHOOL ACCREDITATION

REQUIREMENTS:
● Master’s Degree in educational administration.
● Valid Nebraska administrative and supervisory certificate.
● Minimum of five years in education and previous experience in administration and human resource management is preferred.
● Such alternative qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable
● Successfully pass district background check

REPORTS TO: Superintendent
RECEIVES GUIDANCE FROM: Superintendent
JOB GOAL: Responsible for effectively planning, implementing, directing and maintaining the district's personnel services; serving as a resource for staff, and maintaining staffing to ensure that personnel functions conform to district, state, and federal requirements.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month (260 day contract) as established by the Board of Education
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the district’s Administrative Personnel Evaluation Policy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
● Consistent and punctual “on site” attendance at the worksite is an essential job function
● Function under the supervision and direction of the Superintendent of Schools.
● Perform duties and responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
● Participate as an active and contributing member of the administrative and central office teams.
● Maintain and role model confidentiality.
● Recruit, sustain, and evaluate designated staff.
● Facilitate purposeful and relevant professional development.
● Attend all regular meetings of the Board of Education and special meetings related to areas of responsibilities.
● Provide monthly board reports.
● Stay current on rules and regulations pertinent to areas of responsibility.
● Lead and support various committees (Award for Excellence, etc.)
● Organize, supervise, and evaluate all areas of responsibility.
● Manage personnel information in accordance with document retention specifications.
● Make recommendations to the Superintendent of Schools with regard to the district’s personnel management functions.
● Assist in the development and administration of designated budgets.
● Review, revise, update, and monitor the certified staff, classified staff, and substitute teacher handbooks.
● Facilitate the recruitment and selection of all staff.
● Conduct and analyze background checks in accordance with current laws.
● Implement, administer, and monitor exit interview processes for employees.
● Review and revise job descriptions as needed.
● Facilitate and support evaluation processes for all staff.
● Administer, monitor and review leave policies for all staff.
● Review and submit employee accident reports and oversee “return to work” documents.
● Serve as a liaison for workers compensation claims.
● Manage the recruitment, screening, in-service, supervision, placement, and performance of substitute teachers.
● Facilitate and document transfer requests.
● Collaborate with higher education to place student teachers and practicum students.
● Implement directives of applicable employment laws.
● Assist in the administration, revision, and implementation of policies directly related to the Human Resources and Accreditation department.
● Manage the record keeping of professional growth for staff.
● Attend relevant local, regional, state, and national meetings as needed to facilitate individual professional growth and self reflection.
● Manage personnel issues in a timely and professional manner.
● Submit ads for employment opportunities within the district.
● Serve as a consultant for principals during the evaluation process.
● Assist in the development and implementation of Performance Improvement Plans.
● In conjunction with the Director of Teaching and Learning, review “best practices” in teaching evaluation and instruction.
● Supervise the district teacher mentor program.
● Participate in interviewing, hiring, and training staff as needed.
● Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Board of Education policies.
● Collaborate with team members and consultants to design and implement engaging and effective professional development, in conjunction with the Director of Teaching and Learning.
● Provide leadership around the development and submission of accreditation reports, including program assessment and other program-oriented documents relating to school/district accreditation.
● Develop essential school documents, such as accountability plans and accreditation reports, in conjunction with the Director of Teaching and Learning.
● Collaborate with community agencies focused on enhancing school programs, leadership development, and student achievement.
● Oversee compliance of all state and federal regulations related to areas of responsibility, including, but not limited to NDE’s Rule 10 and 21.
● Complete all federal, state, and local reports in an efficient and effective manner.
● Provide assistance, guidance, and support to all personnel within assigned areas.
● Relate with staff and community stakeholders through positive professional cooperation
● Perform other tasks as may be assigned
