Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Possesses knowledge and understanding of best practices in serving students with ASD from preschool to age 21.

Provides leadership to and collaboration with educational and agency personnel.

Provides consultation, program planning support and assessment services to school districts in the Southeast Region.

Provides training opportunities for school district personnel, community professionals, parents and caregivers of children with ASD.

Maintains an ASD Resource Library with current publications related to the field of Autism.

Continues to be informed on new programs, strategies, and technology for educating children with ASD; is aware of new research and best practices in educating children with ASD; is knowledgeable of important legislation that may affect children, families and professionals who are working with children with ASD.

Participates in the partnership with the four other regional ASD coordinators within Nebraska and collaborate in state and regional activities representing the Southeast Region and Nebraska.

Maintains a current data base of all contacts and training participants.

Maintains the Southeast Region ASD informational website.

Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.
