The very best way to influence your State Senator is to meet on his or her turf at the Capitol. Be sure to contact your senator in advance to arrange a short meeting before 11:00 a.m. on February 14. We encourage you to bring the following to your meeting:
       1.   A student success story…make it real!
       2.   Your District’s Targeted Improvement Plan (TIP) showing high expectations for special education.
       3.   If available, any data showing how you are closing the gap for students with disabilities.

1:00       Medicaid in Public Schools (MIPS) Round Table
The MIPS Round Table will provide participants the opportunity to rotate through a variety of topics to learn more about Medicaid in Public Schools in Nebraska.  Public schools receive Medicaid funds for some health services provided to students with disabilities at school.  Round table presentations will cover topics such as DHHS Guide for School-based Services, Department of Health Licensing process, IEP Documentation related to MIPS with samples/examples, School Districts Experiences, and more.

Immediately following the NDE Program to 3:30     New NASES Member Workshop at NCSA
Following the morning's NDE Program, a leadership workshop for new NASES members will be held at NCSA with a focus on staff supervision.  After the presentation, there will be time for a question and answer session on other current topics that new directors are dealing with. Lunch will be provided.
